2024 WI Green Party Membership Meeting Election Results

Some Notes on this Election
The Wisconsin Green Party currently has 85 members in good standing (having donated $12 or more over the last year). The ballot was sent out to the email addresses we have on file for each member. After keeping voting open for 7 days 36 members had cast ballots (44%) which met the quorum threshold of 20% required for the vote to be binding.

Presidential Nominating Contest
The Wisconsin nominating contest had three candidates:
The video embedded below is of our spring gathering where each of the candidates on the ballot had a chance to speak to our members.
In the presidential nominating contest Wisconsin has 4 delegates to apportion. With 36 votes cast the threshold to receive a delegate to the nominating convention is 8 votes. In successive rounds the candidate with the least unallocated votes was eliminated and their remaining votes were allocated proportionally to the second-choice candidates on their ballots. In successive rounds until all delegates are allocate or all ballots are exhausted.
In the first round of processing Jill Stein was the only candidate to pass that threshold of 8 to receive a delegate (ranked first by 25 voters). Stein passes the threshold to receive a delegate three times in the first round of voting and is allocated our first 3 delegates.
In the second round of processing, the surplus vote for Stein is reallocated proportionally. Stein ballot second choices were as follows, 12 ballots were exhausted, 9 were for Sherman, and 4 for Zevala. Eliminating spent ballots 69% of Stein voters second pick is Sherman allocating the one remaining vote to Sherman.

No candidates meet the threshold to receive a delegate so the candidate with the least votes is eliminated. For ballots ranking Zevala first the second choices were as follows, 2 for Sherman and one exhausted ballot. Transferring two votes from Zevala to Sherman, places Sherman at the threshold of 8 votes to receive a single delegate.
The four delegates from Wisconsin will be apportioned with 3 pledged for Stein and 1 Pledged for Sherman.

US Senate Candidate Endorsement
Jo'Nathan Kingfisher was the only candidate standing for this position and received 28 votes (77.7%) in favor of endorsement. Kingfisher has received enough votes for nomination and endorsement as the Wisconsin Green Party Candidate for US Senate.

US House of Representatives Congressional District 1
Chester Todd
Chester Todd was the only candidate standing for this position and received 33 (91.6%) votes in favor of endorsement. Todd has received enough votes for nomination and endorsement as the Wisconsin Green Party Candidate for Congressional District 1.
