Celebrating May Day: Standing With Workers and Striving for a Greener Wisconsin

This International Workers' Day, we at the Wisconsin Green Party join hands with workers all over our state, our country, and the world. May Day is a time to remember the incredible struggles and victories of the labor movement, and it's also a reminder of how important it is to keep fighting for workers' rights and economic justice. On this day, 129 years ago, Jacob Coxey's Army of unemployed workers began their historic march on Washington D.C. As the Wisconsin Green Party, we commemorate this significant event in the history of workers' rights and economic justice. The Wisconsin Green Party stands in support of Tribal Sovereignty and Treaty Rights of the Lac du Flambeau federal Native American Indian reservation nation and their legal control over their own federal tribal lands. Nation-to-nation relations are the first and foremost guiding principle and most basic fact of legal social relationships in the present road closure dispute. The Four Lakes Green Party has announced a slate of candidate endorsements for Madison Common Council in the April 2023 election. The Four Lakes Greens chose John W. Duncan (District 1), Juliana Bennett (District 2), Marsha Rummel (District 6), MGR Govindarajan (District 8), Nikki Conklin (District 9), and Michelle Ellinger Linley (District 18) as the best candidates to advance Green values of grassroots democracy, social justice, and ecological sustainability on the Madison Common Council.
